About the Sculptor: Scott Joseph Moore

When Scott Joseph Moore began working on the design and production of the Southeastern Guide Dogs Superheroes on Parade sculptures, he discovered that the dogs in his hands became part of a healing process. As he mourned the loss of his own beloved dog, he found comfort in knowing that the sculptures in his hands supported something so meaningful. “This project has given me clear vision of what a guide or service dog can mean to someone,” he says. “They can mean complete freedom and independence, and help someone feel human again.”

Scott is the owner, creative director, and artist at Moore Art Expressions. During the sculpting, molding, and casting of all of the dogs, Scott’s associates Robin Warsaw, Fred Mckenna, and his son, Christopher Moore, came to his assistance. In addition to sculpting, Scott enjoyed painting two of the superhero dogs.

Scott has enjoyed a lifelong love affair with the visual arts. Throughout life’s journey, he has found solace in dreams of creativity. He attended Ringling College of Art and Design, receiving a BFA in computer animation. Now, his dreams are being realized through Moore Art Expressions.
